014052 : Screw type reference electrode for alkaline solution

The RE-61VT reference electrode is made of Hg/HgO instead of calomel paste, and 1 M sodium hydroxide is used as an electrolyte solution. It has the specific design to be suitable for the ALS line-up flow cell, as Cross flow cell, Radial flow cell, EQCMT flow cell and SEC-3F Spectroelectrochemical flow cell.
Also, potassium hydroxide solution can be used as a internal solution, instead of sodium hydroxide solution.

 

Reference potential

HgO + H2O + 2e = Hg + 2OH-
E0=118 mV vs RHE (25 deg C)
The reference potential is the measured value using RHEK reversible hydrogen electrode kit (Cat. No. 013597).

This product is designed to be filled with 1M NaOH solution by the user.
Please handle with care.

Please note that we do not sell the 1M NaOH solution to be used.

  • Holder material: Polymethylpentene, for the high chemical resistance is used.
  • Main body: Screw type to be removable
  • Liquid junction: Ceramic tip
     

From delivery to use :

This reference electrode is designed for users to fill the electrode body with 1M NaOH solution themselves after receiving it.
We recommend leaving it for at least 3 hours between filling and use to stabilize the potential.

 

Note :
When using with Cross flow cell, Radial flow cell, EQCMT flow cell and SEC-3F, please avoid the below conditions, because some contents and working electrodes have a low tolerance for alkaline solution.

High temperature condition
Long time application
